This tour is scheduled to operate every Thursday and Sunday between July and September. Check the BOOK THIS EXPERIENCE booking panel for available dates.
On arrival at the port, you will check-in and board the catamaran. The crossing is estimated to take 1 hour 45 minutes. The Catamaran is equipped with restrooms, a very good cafeteria serving a variety of hot or cold snacks/beverages, and a small boutique/gift shop.
On arrival in Pozzallo you will be directed to your tour coach for the start of your Sicily tour. Our tour takes the eastern route before arriving at the first stop which is Taormina.
Taormina is a peaceful small medieval town, built on a mountainside and located 206m above sea level. Here you will have free time to enjoy the quaint streets lined with curiosity shops, boutiques and local tavernas. The Greek Theatre (entrance not included) is also worth visiting, even if it is just to enjoy the views from this unique location. You will also have ample time for lunch before we depart (lunch is not included).
The tour then departs for Europe's most active volcano, Mount Etna.
On the way to Etna we include a stop so you can sample some typical Sicilian delicacies, including wines, almond sweets and honey, this is a shortstop but it does give you an opportunity to purchase some genuine local specialities.
The drive up the Mount Etna mountain slopes takes us through picturesque villages and an ever-changing landscape. The lower slopes of the volcano are extremely fertile with groves of oranges, lemons and other Mediterranean flora and of course vines that produce Sicily's best wines. We go through forests of chestnut trees which gradually give way to oak, beech, birch and pine. During our tour of Mount Etna, we visit the Sylvester Craters.
NOTE
Our visit to Mount Etna will take you to 2000 metres above sea level, stopping at Silvester Craters. If you would like to visit the peak of the mountain and there is enough time to do this (you must check with your guide first) optional cable car and 4x4 truck/jeep tours are available, cost varies from €30 to €60 per person depending on which option you decide to take.
We return back to the port of Pozzallo to board the Catamaran for our departure (which is scheduled at 2130hrs) back to Malta.
The tour rate does not include transfers (pickup and drop-off) to the ferry terminal. You can make your own way to the ferry terminal, which is located in Marsa. We do offer transfers as an optional extra, and we have two types: Standard transfers from specific locations, which you can view on Google Maps by clicking on the location links in the list below, or Private transfers from any location in Malta (but not Gozo Island).
Our visit to Mount Etna will take you to 2000 metres above sea level, stopping at Silvester Craters. If you would like to visit higher parts of the mountain, optional cable car and 4x4 truck/jeep tours are available. These are not included in the tour price and vary from €30 to €80 per person depending on the experience. These cannot be booked in advance and are only possible if there is enough time, therefore you must confirm with the tour guide first if there is enough time.
The guide will do most of the explanation whilst travelling from one location to the next. This means that you will have free time to explore locations included in the itinerary on your own.
The routing of the tour may be different to how it is explained in the tour description.
You have the opportunity during the day to buy food and drinks which is not included in the price.

It was too much time driving and sitting in the bus for over 6 hours. Very tiring and no plans to stop and have a decent lunch. All in all the experience was awful, I paid for the cable car and I got at the top of the mountain I was asked for more money from the cable car to tale me to the crater. I didn't see any craters very expensive not worth to spend over 220 eur. Thanks

Overall it was a lot of fun. The bus needed some serious AC, but we managed without it. The tour of Etna was awesome, Taormina is absolutely beautiful. But the “wine tasting” was the biggest waste of time of the entire trip. It was way too crowded, tastings were barely sips, and people acting like it Black Friday at Best Buy to get the excuse of wine samples. It would have been more fun if we stopped at a gas station for 30 min. With that exception, it was a lot of fun.

The tour from beginning to end was absolutley amazing . The host and the driver were so warm , friendly , helpful , informative and gave the day an extra 11/10. Their manner all day as it was a super long tour never faulted . The whole coach party enjoyed the trip and their company . They were very well liked and did Maltatours a big A* The office clerk Chris however could have lost all the stars for this company’s review The reply emails for asking a simple question was rude , arrogant and NOT necessary . No one should be spoken to like I was , trying to make me feel stupid and unorganized. This was a bucket list wish for me as I am fighting cancer for the 4th time . I had booked this trip myself to share with my family and make special memories . So my chemo brain was just checking and double checking the directions as I wanted everything to go well . The day started by nasty , rude emails that wasn’t at all needed . I am so happy and grateful that the driver and guide made my trip even better than expected . Please send them my biggest appreciation and thanks x As for Chris I’m afraid having someone like that at the front of house is a big downfall as they clearly are not a good fit for a people/customer based job or for your company x Thanks once again for your wonderful Sicily team x

I really enjoyed my day , travelling on a luxurious catamaran and watching a film in comfort. Everything was made clear and all the places we visited were if interest. We enjoyed a lovely meal in Taormina , it was a shame we ran out of time but, we stayed as long as we could . The trip took a whole day which was well managed . My only complaint would be that we had to pay extra for pick-up from the hotel , this could have been included as your agency was across the road from our hotel.

This was a well organised tour with quality transport. However we did not visit Pozzallo and I feel the tour guide could have spent some time giving us some stories or useful facts about Taormina instead of letting everyone roam around by themselves - a map woild also have been helpful.

I really enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide and bus driver were extremely professional and informative. I'd only offer one recommendation after speaking with a few other tourists, the tour should include a stop at a shopping district where some of the fine Italian designers have stores. That would have been the cherry on top of a perfect cake! But I really did enjoy the tour.

An absolute waste of my money. There wasn't one stop at which to view Etna, only through the moving coach window. The 2nd stop was at a very tacky tourist village where one could pay another 50 euro for a cable car ride to go halfway up the mountain and still not see the peak. Thoroughly disappointing.

The excursion was comfortable. Nice ship, nice coach. The highlight for us was going to Toarmina again. We'd been on this tour a number of years ago. Unfortunately we lost 75 minutes of time in Toarmina because of a collision between the bus and a car. By the time we had a quick lunch there wasn't much time to shop and take in the sights before wecwere back on the bus. We could have done without a 20 min stop to taste wine and olives.

Our tour-guide in Sicily was excellent. Very forthcoming with information and advised on the best places to go and see in Taormina. There was only one very disappointing aspect to our day; the fact that we had paid for the return transfer upon returning to Valetta, and there was nobody there to collect and drop us home. It was late at night and quite unprofessional. We had to get a bolt instead which cost more money. Apart from this mishap, we had a great time in Taormina and Mt.Etna. Great, skilled driver as well.

This tour was absolutely brilliant, from the pick up at the hotel to the drop off at night. The crew on the catamaran were efficient and courteous. The driver and guide were superb and gave us plenty of information regarding the country and where to visit on the coach stops. The coach driver was amazing driving through the hairpin bends in the mountains and very skilled. I would recommend this tour to anyone who has the time during their holiday to Malta. What an amazing way to spend a full day. From the booking process and any questions I had in between Malta Tours were fantastic at communicating and making me feel at ease. The WhatsApp chat number was also very helpful for any last minute questions I needed answers for. The whole trip was smooth and very well organised and our tour guide on the coach was fantastic. He was such a kind man who couldn’t have been more helpful throughout the day and he was so knowledgeable and interesting in his commentary throughout. A truly amazing trip experienced by my young children who will have these memories to last a lifetime. Highly recommend Malta Tours and particularly this Sicily 1 day tour or longer if you have time. So much to see and do we could definitely have stayed for a few more days!

The tour was great very efficient check in, apart from on our return journey where one of our parties return boarding pass hadn't been sent with the documents. Ferry is very comfortable and the cafe is well stocked and very reasonably priced. Our tour guide was amazing, spoken great English andade sure we saw everything. The only downside was that the cable cars were off at Etna so we couldn't go right up to the summit.

Very nice tour and professionally coordinated. The trip with the catamaran was very smooth and comfortable and the cafeteria on board is quite good. KEEP IN MIND that being a one day trip, you get approx. 3 hours in Taormina and 2 at Mount Etna. If you want to visit more that one place in Taormina and skip lunch, remember there is a restaurant at Mount Etna where you can get something to eat.

There was an incident, while we were visiting Edna - one family did not follow the instructions from our guide and went for a long cable car run, making us miss the leave time. Our guide was very professional and arranged a taxi for the family so that they could get to the next target as we would have had to wait for them for 2 hours. Her handling of the situation was excellent. Same family was lost also in Taormina and we had to go and locate them. Fortunately they were found and we were able to catch our ferry in time.

The taormina part was really good and nice. However the mount Etna part was kind of underwhelming. The thought was we could kind of get to see the lava inside the crater which was not possible.

Our guide was very knowledgable and friendly. The tour was interesting and informative. Taormina was the highlight. Beautiful town, a bit touristy but the scenery made up for that. The only downside to the tour was the amount of time spent traveling, which can't be helped. Bring a good book for the ferry and the bus ride back.

A great glimpse of Sicily on this tour. The food souvenirs and other souvenirs are outstanding and Taormina was interesting and Isola Bella very pretty next time I’ll time my exploration better and swim there. We walked up Mt Etna and did the cable car to the top which was amazing for us having no volcanoes in Australia. As always the tourists that bring an attitude of adventure and fun have the best time. The tourists whingers who complain about trivial aspects I like to avoid at all costs lol. The tour guide was friendly. It was a very long day overall so you need to a great nights sleep beforehand.

Unfortunately, we missed this tour but the company was accommodating and rescheduled us the following day for the Siracusa tour which was fabulous. We toured three towns and experienced so much, our guide was knowledgeable and funny! Marzamemi was amazing! Each town was unique. In Siracusa we took a small boat to visit the caves for $10 so worth it! I am glad we missed the first one because we truly lucked out

The tour was enjoyable the guide was good. The Mount Etna experience wasn't very good as we arrived just before 4 so the cable cars took us up and then they stopped for the day right at 4 so we had to stay up there for 45 mins with no access to washrooms or drinks/snacks and wait for the ride down. $30 euros was wasted on that so may e you should rethink that. Also the stop prior to ME to taste olive oil could be elimated as time could be spent at ME. Ferry was good and the drive was pleasant

Enjoyable, could spend longer in Taormina but I understand it is difficult to squeeze it all in and different individuals will have different preferences on how to spend time. My biggest complaint is the bus driver Ivan in Malta that took us to the port. I have not complained to a company before but I found him to be exceptionally rude and ignorant. He spoke down at me unnecessarily when I asked for clarification and did not treat attempt to be friendly at all. I understand it is early in the morning and late at night so one may not be sociable but when spoken to with a sincere question, he should be respectful at minimum. I had a very bad experience when he picked me up and found him to be again rude at night. I suggest a personality like this should not be in customer service..... I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt that he was having a bad day but somehow I do no think so. Thanks

It was a birthday to remember!! The tour guide was very informative and very pleasant, shame the staff aboard the catamaran weren't as friendly but i didn't let that spoil my day. Taormina was pretty but again the people i encountered working in the shops not so pleasant but you just look passed that. For me mount Etna was the highlight and I would have preferred to have spent the whole day there but unfortunately I couldn't find a tour that did just this from malta. This was just a personal preference though so not taking anything from Taormina. It is a very very long day but so worth it. Thank you for making my birthday special.

Enjoyed the trip. Was a long day but well worth it. A bit disappointing at the very end when the Catamaran arrived back in Malta and would not let the passengers off for 20 minutes after going quayside. Can appreciate the delays due to other vessels departing or arriving but once the ship has come alongside the passengers should be able to depart before all the cars are offloaded from the ferry! This was not an issue when we arrived in Sicily.

This trip was the best part of my Maltese trip. The stay in Taormina,in my opinion,is either too long for visiting(there aren't a lot of things to visit), or too short for going down the hill to the beach(which is amazing). But overall, this trip is the best thing you could choose to take especially if you stay for more than 3 days in Malta.

was a LONG DAY but we enjoyed most of it, if i had to put a down side on it ,that would be the cost of the trip up mt etna , at over 120 euros per couple- it was robbery, then the cable car 60 euros to no where ? apart from the length of the day i would recommend the trip if you have not been to Sicily,

We enjoyed this tour so much! Never saw more beautiful places then Taormina village! Etna was also stunning! Trip was long but very enjoyable! Visited local craft shops where bought lots of local wine, jams, olives tasted delicious food. The tout cost quite a lot but worth every penny! Thank you!

Everything was good except that day it rained all day. Would have been better to have spent more time in Taormina than go to Mount Etna, where we could see nothing. Also I think some food should be included in the price. Apart from that it was a great day out - just a shame about the weather, which I know is not your fault.

It was awful. The day was far too long and it need not have been if we did not have to spend so much (three or more hours) in Taormina, that was a complete waste of time, as 45 mins would have been ample. The guide that we had mumbled his way through a boring, hard to hear speech about Sicily and made no attempt at humour or making it interesting. It was learned off pat which did not encourage anyone to bother listening to him. However, the trip up Mount Etna was well worth the time and extremely interesting. I was not collected at my hotel like everyone else, so had to make my own way to the ferry at 4.30am being ripped off by the taxi driver and then I had to persuade the bus driver collecting other passengers at the end of the trip to drop me back at the hotel at around midnight.

Fantastic value, slick management, they did everything they promised, amazing trip that works well with staying in Malta. Set Meal advice at the restaurant was good value compared with the other restaurants. Pleased we took this safer option.

The tour was very long and involved a lot of travelling but going up Mt Etna was worth it. You do have to budget for cable car ride - 30 euros (on top of tour cost) and if you want to go even further up mountain some more money for off-road bus which I didn't take. Taormina was very picturesque and nice stop off on way to Mt Etna.

The tour staff were very friendly. Shuttle bus to the ferry arrived right on time. My wife uses a wheelchair and the bus and ferry staff were very helpful. The bus tour in Sicily was good. Tour guide and bus driver were helpful. The stop on Mount Etna was a bit long for people who did not want to take the cable car to the summit. Restaurant and washroom facilities were not the best. One washroom was closed and the other at the Terrazzo dell'Etna restaurant was the worst we've encountered and they asked for a 50 cent contribution to ensure good service. (However, this was not Malta Tours fault.) A good tour, but a very long day.

I enjoyed the whole experience of Mount Etna, but I felt that to be left on our own for two hours was unnecessary and a waste of valuable time. Not much to do unless you pay an extra 30 euros to go up on the cable ride. The visit to Modica was worthwhile, but once again we were left for two hours. I noticed another group of tourists being shown round the town by their guide - surely something to consider in the future. Our guide delivered us to a chocolate shop, but failed to tell us that there was a museum of chocolate in the town - free to visit and a history of chocolate making to boot Sicily is such a beautiful island and I feel that much more could be made of the time available which would paint a much better picture of the island - less time at Mount Etna, and a slower journey through some of the towns to sample the unique buildings and quality of Sicilian life.

Disappointed that the first village shop was to quickly direct us to one specific vendor off in a park who charged more for the same items than the vendors set up in the village green where there was entertainment. And then to not have enough time to really visit those other vendors. Also disappointed that one had to pay an additional 30 Euros to take a cable car up to the actual volcano on Etna. And, although impressed that the Italian tour guide could speak English and German fluently, he spoke so fast and somewhat muffled that he was hard to understand. On the other hand, the 200 mile tour through Sicily was enjoyable in order to get a glimpse of the island, and the town of Modica was very charming. Again we were herded to one chocolate shop whose prices were higher than competitors, but we at least had time to shop around and venture more on our own.

It was too much time driving and sitting in the bus for over 6 hours. Very tiring and no plans to stop and have a decent lunch. All in all the experience was awful, I paid for the cable car and I got at the top of the mountain I was asked for more money from the cable car to tale me to the crater. I didn't see any craters very expensive not worth to spend over 220 eur. Thanks

Overall it was a lot of fun. The bus needed some serious AC, but we managed without it. The tour of Etna was awesome, Taormina is absolutely beautiful. But the “wine tasting” was the biggest waste of time of the entire trip. It was way too crowded, tastings were barely sips, and people acting like it Black Friday at Best Buy to get the excuse of wine samples. It would have been more fun if we stopped at a gas station for 30 min. With that exception, it was a lot of fun.

The tour from beginning to end was absolutley amazing . The host and the driver were so warm , friendly , helpful , informative and gave the day an extra 11/10. Their manner all day as it was a super long tour never faulted . The whole coach party enjoyed the trip and their company . They were very well liked and did Maltatours a big A* The office clerk Chris however could have lost all the stars for this company’s review The reply emails for asking a simple question was rude , arrogant and NOT necessary . No one should be spoken to like I was , trying to make me feel stupid and unorganized. This was a bucket list wish for me as I am fighting cancer for the 4th time . I had booked this trip myself to share with my family and make special memories . So my chemo brain was just checking and double checking the directions as I wanted everything to go well . The day started by nasty , rude emails that wasn’t at all needed . I am so happy and grateful that the driver and guide made my trip even better than expected . Please send them my biggest appreciation and thanks x As for Chris I’m afraid having someone like that at the front of house is a big downfall as they clearly are not a good fit for a people/customer based job or for your company x Thanks once again for your wonderful Sicily team x

I really enjoyed my day , travelling on a luxurious catamaran and watching a film in comfort. Everything was made clear and all the places we visited were if interest. We enjoyed a lovely meal in Taormina , it was a shame we ran out of time but, we stayed as long as we could . The trip took a whole day which was well managed . My only complaint would be that we had to pay extra for pick-up from the hotel , this could have been included as your agency was across the road from our hotel.

This was a well organised tour with quality transport. However we did not visit Pozzallo and I feel the tour guide could have spent some time giving us some stories or useful facts about Taormina instead of letting everyone roam around by themselves - a map woild also have been helpful.

I'd only offer one recommendation after speaking with a few other tourists, the tour should include a stop at a shopping district where some of the fine Italian designers have stores. That would have been the cherry on top of a perfect cake! But I really did enjoy the tour.

An absolute waste of my money. There wasn't one stop at which to view Etna, only through the moving coach window. The 2nd stop was at a very tacky tourist village where one could pay another 50 euro for a cable car ride to go halfway up the mountain and still not see the peak. Thoroughly disappointing.

The excursion was comfortable. Nice ship, nice coach. The highlight for us was going to Toarmina again. We'd been on this tour a number of years ago. Unfortunately we lost 75 minutes of time in Toarmina because of a collision between the bus and a car. By the time we had a quick lunch there wasn't much time to shop and take in the sights before wecwere back on the bus. We could have done without a 20 min stop to taste wine and olives.

Our tour-guide in Sicily was excellent. Very forthcoming with information and advised on the best places to go and see in Taormina. There was only one very disappointing aspect to our day; the fact that we had paid for the return transfer upon returning to Valetta, and there was nobody there to collect and drop us home. It was late at night and quite unprofessional. We had to get a bolt instead which cost more money. Apart from this mishap, we had a great time in Taormina and Mt.Etna. Great, skilled driver as well.

This tour was absolutely brilliant, from the pick up at the hotel to the drop off at night. The crew on the catamaran were efficient and courteous. The driver and guide were superb and gave us plenty of information regarding the country and where to visit on the coach stops. The coach driver was amazing driving through the hairpin bends in the mountains and very skilled. I would recommend this tour to anyone who has the time during their holiday to Malta. What an amazing way to spend a full day. From the booking process and any questions I had in between Malta Tours were fantastic at communicating and making me feel at ease. The WhatsApp chat number was also very helpful for any last minute questions I needed answers for. The whole trip was smooth and very well organised and our tour guide on the coach was fantastic. He was such a kind man who couldn’t have been more helpful throughout the day and he was so knowledgeable and interesting in his commentary throughout. A truly amazing trip experienced by my young children who will have these memories to last a lifetime. Highly recommend Malta Tours and particularly this Sicily 1 day tour or longer if you have time. So much to see and do we could definitely have stayed for a few more days!

The tour was great very efficient check in, apart from on our return journey where one of our parties return boarding pass hadn't been sent with the documents. Ferry is very comfortable and the cafe is well stocked and very reasonably priced. Our tour guide was amazing, spoken great English andade sure we saw everything. The only downside was that the cable cars were off at Etna so we couldn't go right up to the summit.

Very nice tour and professionally coordinated. The trip with the catamaran was very smooth and comfortable and the cafeteria on board is quite good. KEEP IN MIND that being a one day trip, you get approx. 3 hours in Taormina and 2 at Mount Etna. If you want to visit more that one place in Taormina and skip lunch, remember there is a restaurant at Mount Etna where you can get something to eat.

Overall the trip was very enjoyable. The 2.5 hour trip to Taormina went quite quickly,the place was very nice to walk around and the food was lovely. Unfortunately we could only go so far up Mt etna as it was cloudy at the stop we made so no cable car or jeep trip,but that's the way it goes. There was an incident, while we were visiting Edna - one family did not follow the instructions from our guide and went for a long cable car run, making us miss the leave time. Our guide was very professional and arranged a taxi for the family so that they could get to the next target as we would have had to wait for them for 2 hours. Her handling of the situation was excellent. Same family was lost also in Taormina and we had to go and locate them. Fortunately they were found and we were able to catch our ferry in time.

The taormina part was really good and nice. However the mount Etna part was kind of underwhelming. The thought was we could kind of get to see the lava inside the crater which was not possible.

Our guide was very knowledgable and friendly. The tour was interesting and informative. Taormina was the highlight. Beautiful town, a bit touristy but the scenery made up for that. The only downside to the tour was the amount of time spent traveling, which can't be helped. Bring a good book for the ferry and the bus ride back.

A great glimpse of Sicily on this tour. The food souvenirs and other souvenirs are outstanding and Taormina was interesting and Isola Bella very pretty next time I’ll time my exploration better and swim there. We walked up Mt Etna and did the cable car to the top which was amazing for us having no volcanoes in Australia. As always the tourists that bring an attitude of adventure and fun have the best time. The tourists whingers who complain about trivial aspects I like to avoid at all costs lol. The tour guide was friendly. It was a very long day overall so you need to a great nights sleep beforehand.

Unfortunately, we missed this tour but the company was accommodating and rescheduled us the following day for the Siracusa tour which was fabulous. We toured three towns and experienced so much, our guide was knowledgeable and funny! Marzamemi was amazing! Each town was unique. In Siracusa we took a small boat to visit the caves for $10 so worth it! I am glad we missed the first one because we truly lucked out

Travelling hours is quite long that it seemsno enough time for sightseeing. No contact with the local people but only see tourists from other countries other than the local Siciliens. The trip to Etan volcano is amazing. The guild and the driver are professional. .

The tour was enjoyable the guide was good. The Mount Etna experience wasn't very good as we arrived just before 4 so the cable cars took us up and then they stopped for the day right at 4 so we had to stay up there for 45 mins with no access to washrooms or drinks/snacks and wait for the ride down. $30 euros was wasted on that so may e you should rethink that. Also the stop prior to ME to taste olive oil could be elimated as time could be spent at ME. Ferry was good and the drive was pleasant

We absolutely loved this tour, it was a bit cloudy so didn't get to make the most of my etna but great to see all the same. Informative and friendly guide. Our tour date had to be changed but they told us promptly and arranged everything for us. Would definitely recommend!

Enjoyable, could spend longer in Taormina but I understand it is difficult to squeeze it all in and different individuals will have different preferences on how to spend time. My biggest complaint is the bus driver Ivan in Malta that took us to the port. I have not complained to a company before but I found him to be exceptionally rude and ignorant. He spoke down at me unnecessarily when I asked for clarification and did not treat attempt to be friendly at all. I understand it is early in the morning and late at night so one may not be sociable but when spoken to with a sincere question, he should be respectful at minimum. I had a very bad experience when he picked me up and found him to be again rude at night. I suggest a personality like this should not be in customer service..... I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt that he was having a bad day but somehow I do no think so. Thanks

It was a birthday to remember!! The tour guide was very informative and very pleasant, shame the staff aboard the catamaran weren't as friendly but i didn't let that spoil my day. Taormina was pretty but again the people i encountered working in the shops not so pleasant but you just look passed that. For me mount Etna was the highlight and I would have preferred to have spent the whole day there but unfortunately I couldn't find a tour that did just this from malta. This was just a personal preference though so not taking anything from Taormina. It is a very very long day but so worth it. Thank you for making my birthday special.

Enjoyed the trip. Was a long day but well worth it. A bit disappointing at the very end when the Catamaran arrived back in Malta and would not let the passengers off for 20 minutes after going quayside. Can appreciate the delays due to other vessels departing or arriving but once the ship has come alongside the passengers should be able to depart before all the cars are offloaded from the ferry! This was not an issue when we arrived in Sicily.

This trip was the best part of my Maltese trip. The stay in Taormina,in my opinion,is either too long for visiting(there aren't a lot of things to visit), or too short for going down the hill to the beach(which is amazing). But overall, this trip is the best thing you could choose to take especially if you stay for more than 3 days in Malta.

was a LONG DAY but we enjoyed most of it, if i had to put a down side on it ,that would be the cost of the trip up mt etna , at over 120 euros per couple- it was robbery, then the cable car 60 euros to no where ? apart from the length of the day i would recommend the trip if you have not been to Sicily,

We enjoyed this tour so much! Never saw more beautiful places then Taormina village! Etna was also stunning! Trip was long but very enjoyable! Visited local craft shops where bought lots of local wine, jams, olives tasted delicious food. The tout cost quite a lot but worth every penny! Thank you!

Everything was good except that day it rained all day. Would have been better to have spent more time in Taormina than go to Mount Etna, where we could see nothing. Also I think some food should be included in the price. Apart from that it was a great day out - just a shame about the weather, which I know is not your fault.

It was awful. The day was far too long and it need not have been if we did not have to spend so much (three or more hours) in Taormina, that was a complete waste of time, as 45 mins would have been ample. The guide that we had mumbled his way through a boring, hard to hear speech about Sicily and made no attempt at humour or making it interesting. It was learned off pat which did not encourage anyone to bother listening to him. However, the trip up Mount Etna was well worth the time and extremely interesting. I was not collected at my hotel like everyone else, so had to make my own way to the ferry at 4.30am being ripped off by the taxi driver and then I had to persuade the bus driver collecting other passengers at the end of the trip to drop me back at the hotel at around midnight.

Fantastic value, slick management, they did everything they promised, amazing trip that works well with staying in Malta. Set Meal advice at the restaurant was good value compared with the other restaurants. Pleased we took this safer option.

The tour was very long and involved a lot of travelling but going up Mt Etna was worth it. You do have to budget for cable car ride - 30 euros (on top of tour cost) and if you want to go even further up mountain some more money for off-road bus which I didn't take. Taormina was very picturesque and nice stop off on way to Mt Etna.

The tour staff were very friendly. Shuttle bus to the ferry arrived right on time. My wife uses a wheelchair and the bus and ferry staff were very helpful. The bus tour in Sicily was good. Tour guide and bus driver were helpful. The stop on Mount Etna was a bit long for people who did not want to take the cable car to the summit. Restaurant and washroom facilities were not the best. One washroom was closed and the other at the Terrazzo dell'Etna restaurant was the worst we've encountered and they asked for a 50 cent contribution to ensure good service. (However, this was not Malta Tours fault.) A good tour, but a very long day.

I enjoyed the whole experience of Mount Etna, but I felt that to be left on our own for two hours was unnecessary and a waste of valuable time. Not much to do unless you pay an extra 30 euros to go up on the cable ride. The visit to Modica was worthwhile, but once again we were left for two hours. I noticed another group of tourists being shown round the town by their guide - surely something to consider in the future. Our guide delivered us to a chocolate shop, but failed to tell us that there was a museum of chocolate in the town - free to visit and a history of chocolate making to boot Sicily is such a beautiful island and I feel that much more could be made of the time available which would paint a much better picture of the island - less time at Mount Etna, and a slower journey through some of the towns to sample the unique buildings and quality of Sicilian life.

Disappointed that the first village shop was to quickly direct us to one specific vendor off in a park who charged more for the same items than the vendors set up in the village green where there was entertainment. And then to not have enough time to really visit those other vendors. Also disappointed that one had to pay an additional 30 Euros to take a cable car up to the actual volcano on Etna. And, although impressed that the Italian tour guide could speak English and German fluently, he spoke so fast and somewhat muffled that he was hard to understand. On the other hand, the 200 mile tour through Sicily was enjoyable in order to get a glimpse of the island, and the town of Modica was very charming. Again we were herded to one chocolate shop whose prices were higher than competitors, but we at least had time to shop around and venture more on our own.
