This exciting new itinerary, features Mount ETNA, the largest active volcano in Europe, Syracuse and Ortygia Island, a hub for typical Sicilian history and culture.

This tour is scheduled to operate every Thursday between January and April. And, every Sunday during April. Check the BOOK THIS EXPERIENCE booking panel for available dates.
On arrival at the port, you will check-in and board the catamaran. The crossing is estimated to take 1 hour 45 minutes. The Catamaran is equipped with restrooms, a very good cafeteria serving a variety of hot or cold snacks/beverages, and a small boutique/gift shop.
On arrival in Pozzallo you will be directed to your tour coach for the start of your Sicily tour. Our tour takes the eastern route before arriving at the first stop which is Mount Etna.
On the way to Etna we include a stop so you can sample some typical Sicilian delicacies, including wines, almond sweets and honey, this is a shortstop but it does give you an opportunity to purchase some genuine local specialities.
The drive up the Mount Etna mountain slopes takes us through picturesque villages and an ever-changing landscape. The lower slopes of the volcano are extremely fertile with groves of oranges, lemons and other Mediterranean flora and of course vines that produce Sicily's best wines. We go through forests of chestnut trees which gradually give way to oak, beech, birch and pine. During our tour of Mount Etna, we visit the Sylvester Craters.
Our next stop includes a visit to the one of Sicily's most famous towns, Syracuse. Syracuse has come to epitomize Greek culture in Sicily, Magna Grecia. On arrival stroll through the old part of Ortygia Island, the heart of the city centre. Here you can visit the duomo a converted Greek temple and one of the oldest places of worship worldwide and equally as unique. End your tour with time to visit a local cafeteria and enjoy some of the local sweets, cannoli or locally made ice cream...simply divine!
The order in which we visit the locations may change as they are mentioned above.
We return back to the port of Pozzallo to board the Catamaran for our departure back to Malta.
The tour rate does not include transfers (pickup and drop-off) to the ferry terminal. You can make your own way to the ferry terminal, which is located in Marsa. We do offer transfers as an optional extra, and we have two types: Standard transfers from specific locations, which you can view on Google Maps by clicking on the location links in the list below, or Private transfers from any location in Malta (but not Gozo Island).
Our visit to Mount Etna will take you to 2000 metres above sea level, stopping at Silvester Craters. If you would like to visit higher parts of the mountain, optional cable car and 4x4 truck/jeep tours are available. These are not included in the tour price and vary from €30 to €80 per person depending on the experience. These cannot be booked in advance and are only possible if there is enough time, therefore you must confirm with the tour guide first if there is enough time.
The guide will do most of the explanation whilst travelling from one location to the next. This means that you will have free time to explore locations included in the itinerary on your own.
The routing of the tour may be different to how it is explained in the tour description.
You have the opportunity during the day to buy food and drinks which is not included in the price.

We would have enjoyed more time on Mt Aetna mainly because so much was used waiting on line for the cable cars, other than that THANK YOU SO MUCH for an unforgettable experience!!

Look it was value for money the pick up and drop off to the hotel was no issue and was on time. The tour it self to mount etna was very good. However the tour of Syracuse City was not so good we felt that we were left to our own devices nothing was explained properly by the tour guide and we hardly see anything there as we did not know where to go so we were very disappointed towards the end if the tour.

Great experience. One thing in Syracuse is that finding a place to have dinner was difficult due to most places don't open until 630-7 . But overall it was great ?.

Very good guide. She gave Useful info but didn't talk all the time which is very good. Music not too loud on coach. I would've preferred if it were off completely on the way back.

Well to start with we were getting a bit anxious as the pick up driver was running late. We tried ringing the number you gave us, however that was your office number with a voice mail message saying you were closed. (Obviously it was 4.45 on a Sunday). Marie the other lady who was waiting was getting worried too. Anyway the minibus arrived and we got to the ferry in good time. The cat was awsome and the sun rises over Valletta beautiful! The ferry company were excellent as they provided wheelchair access for me because of the steps. John-Franko and Floridana were waiting on the Quay side and so began our 2 hour journey to Etna. Only one slight criticism was that the mic for the commentary was intermittent, and so we lost a lot in the noisy road. Etna was great and Floridana made up for the poor quality commentary by answering questions in the restaurant where we tasted the local goodies. Etna did not disapoint covered in snow she looked beautiful. Th other stop Syracuse was great and we had plenty of time to explore. I will say I need not have worried as to my ability to get around. John-Franko was a great help at getting me on and off the minibus. All in all a trip worth making and we spread the word to folks that we had made acquaintances with back at Sea Bank.

I did this same trip in September and I liked it more than my last trip recently because in sept the program was different: we first went to visit the city , had some beautiful photospots and than went to the etna where it was very cold. The last time we we first went to the etna where I enjoyed much more this time but after that we were dumped somewhere which was not so beautiful as the city of ( I think Taormina). My tip: it is a good idea to start with the etna , drive trough the beautiful spots and than to the city of Taormina with its beauty and don’t forget to mention in the flyer that it is only about 10 degrees so take a warm sweater with you and warm sneakers as well. The guide and driver were very helpful and nice!!!! Hope to visit you soon again.

The guide was very helpful but her timings wre a bit optimistic in Syracuse we took a boat trip and were told there would be plenty of time to look around the market etc - as the start of the boat trip was delayed thsi left no time to go to the market - a bit frustrating and simoilar failing about time occured for the cable car in Mount Etna

Basically, this is really just transportation. We misunderstood and thought we had a guide. Of all the trips we took during our three week stay in Malta and Greece, this was a big disappointment. It felt as if we spent more time on the bus, than seeing Sicily. Our guide was really just a leader and not even that, didn't get too much history and once we were in Siracusa - we were totally left on our own. We booked the trip last minute the afternoon before and did not have time to research the area so we were probably not as prepared as normally are, but thinking we had a guide we thought we would be alright. I would not recommend unless you do some research on your own before you go and Sunday in Siracusa is too busy. We were unfortunately, disappointed.

This was a really great day but a very long one. The pick up was very punctual and the ferry very comfortable. Our guide Loredanna (?) was excellent, so friendly and knowledgeable. Mt Etna was great and Ortigia was a beautiful place to visit.
