When is it available

This tour is scheduled to operate every Sunday between January and the end of March. And, every Wednesday between February 12 and the end of April. Check the BOOK THIS EXPERIENCE booking panel for available dates.

On arrival at the port, you will check-in and board the catamaran. The crossing is estimated to take 1 hour 45 minutes. The Catamaran is equipped with restrooms, a very good cafeteria serving a variety of hot or cold snacks/beverages and a small boutique/gift shop.

On arrival in Pozzallo, you will be directed to your tour coach for the start of your Sicily tour. You will visit typical Sicilian towns and experience some of the rich heritage this region of Sicily is so famous for.

Our first stop includes a visit to the Baroque city of Modica to enjoy some time in the city centre and the popular "Il Corso". Modica once so important as to constitute a kingdom within the kingdom, is today a prosperous town still dependent on its traditional agricultural economy. Admire the beautiful flight of steps leading to the main entrance and the statues representing the twelve apostles are the main features of S. Pietro's church. The main street or "Corso", with its mixture of magnificent buildings, modern shops and alfresco cafes. It is a thriving town centre. Modica is also renowned for its chocolate making, including ‘Cioccolato di Modica’ or ‘Cioccolata Modicana’. The Spanish introduced the recipe which they got from the ancient Aztecs of Mexico. Chocolate shop owner welcome visitors to taste and sample, one the most popular being the Antica Dolceria Bonajuto, which is a well known chocolate factory shop.

We continue next to Scicli, a UNSECO World Heritage Site. It is well worth wandering around this quiet little town, overlooked by a massive rock on which sits the unfinished church of San Matteo. Of the many palaces built by aristocratic families includes the Palazzo Benventano, just off the main Piazza, with its façade decorated with Saracen gargoyles. The church of Santa Maria la Nova, one of the many baroque churches in the town centre, houses Scicli’s best known icon, the Byzantine wooden statue of the Virgin Mary wielding a sword and ridding a white stallion. The Chiarafura Caves Dwellings, dug out in the cliff in prehistory, saw the last residents leave as late as 1958.

The final stop is another UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is Ragusa Ibla. It is typical Sicilian southern town built on a plateau. The charming streets are adorned with beautiful Baroque style buildings, in fact, one of the finest buildings in the whole of Sicily is right here, the Duomo of San Giorgio, which was designed by the architect Rosario Gagliardi. Before you set off on your walkabout adventure, enjoy the ambience of Ibla at a local cafe with a nice cool drink. Make your way to the Piazza and onto the main winding street which takes you to the Giardono Ibleo. On the way take a look at another of Gagliardi's work, the small but elegant church of San Giuseppe. The Giardano Ibleo is a haven of peace and quiet with an exquisite view of the valley below and beyond. Just outside the entrance to the garden is the gothic Portale San Giorgio, it is all that remains of the original church of San Giorgio, it was unfortunately brought to the ground during the earthquake of 1693.

We return back to the port of Pozzallo to board the Catamaran for our departure back to Malta.

The tour rate does not include transfers (pickup and drop-off) to the ferry terminal. You can make your own way to the ferry terminal, which is located in Marsa. We do offer transfers as an optional extra, and we have two types: Standard transfers from specific locations, which you can view on Google Maps by clicking on the location links in the list below, or Private transfers from any location in Malta (but not Gozo Island).

Always difficult to squeeze much into a one day tour, but this succeeded. Our guide and driver were both very professional. I would have liked to stay in Ragusa for a bit longer. It was the most interesting of the three places we visited. The ferry experience from/to Malta was very good

It wasn’t obvious why ferry passengers had to be there at least 1 hour before departure (it was off season with very few foot passengers) and then held on arrival until all the vehicles had driven off. Both seemed unnecessary and pointless. As for the tour, it felt like we were just dropped off at three pretty dull provincial towns to kill time. I wouldn’t recommend it. It was essentially a 15-hour for little reward, unless you wanted to experience being in an enclosed catamaran and coach for hours.

Seeing Modica,Ragusa and Scicli makes us realize how much better Malta's town has to offer. We wouldn't visit these again. There are much better places in Sicily .

The tour guide wasn't as good as hoped - left everyone to their own devices to explore and didn't give enough instructions to everyone. Too much "free time" when she should have been with everyone and taking them to the best places to visit.

Everything was smooth. But 3 cities are so similar. So i hope one city should have a more different aspect like a beach town.

Hated the ferry… too disorganised. Tour was disjointed and too long at some stops. Tour guide was lovely but spoke too quick. Places visited were lovely but could only tell you just a few things about them as a here was far too much info thrown at you. Would I do this trip again- No!

The tour was well organised, Scicli could have been avoided as it was late and not much to see. On the other hand focusing more time on Ragusa Ibla and Modica would have been nice.

The route was professionally planned, enabling to visit many places ( 3 cities) in a short time with a guide, and to get own time for eating and shopping.

I was glad I got to go to Sicily for the day, but I was disappointed to find out that there was no guided tour on foot, just information given on the bus. There was very little information (especially in English) at any of the 3 towns we visited, and a guide is completely necessary if you want to learn the history of the towns. Also, many museums or shops were closed despite it being within the opening hours posted on the doors. The scenery was beautiful and the tour information given on the bus was nice, but I would have rather stayed on Malta an extra day and gone to places with English-language information. If you don't care about history, I suppose this tour would be fine, as the food in Sicily was excellent. Also, the tour asks that you're at the ferry 1 hour before departure time, which was unnecessary - 30 minutes would have been fine. It's already an early morning and I was frustrated to be waiting around on the ferry for an hour. We also got back to the ferry way too early on the Sicily side and had to wait almost 90 minutes there. That said, there wasn't much else to do in Scicli besides eat and drink more, so it wasn't too bad to be early.

Thank you for your feedback. The ferry company determines the time passengers should be at the port, travelling on a ferry to an international destination is the same as travelling by flight. With regards to the actual tour. The guided are native Sicilians and not naturally English speaking.

5 stars! An absolute fabulous way to visit Siciliy for the day whilst staying in Malta. It was organised so effectively from the ferry to the driver and tour guide on the other side. I found it so enjoyable and interesting whilst going solo on this day trip. The travelling to each town was spread out over a nice schedule as we had free time to explore and try the amazing food / wine. I can’t recommend this tour enough it is a must!!

Wonderful day in Sicily. Our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. At the stops you are given time on your own to explore (with recommendations given). We liked that we were able to wander on our own and felt like the time given at each stop was sufficient. Ragusa was gorgeous and quiet. In Modica we tried their famous chocolate and had wonderful pasta at one of the restaurants before walking up through the town and going up in the bell tower of the impressive San Georgio cathedral. Scicli had more churches and gorgeous architecture. Would try this companies other tours when we return.
