We start with a scenic drive along the coastal road via St. Paul’s Bay, along the ridges in the north and passing one of our largest sandy beaches, Mellieha.
On arrival at Marfa, which is one the most northern tips of the island, we board our boat. Discover the breathtaking beauty of Comino Island on this private 2-hour charter. You will see the islands highlights including the Blue Lagoon and the stunning Crystal Lagoon. Explore a variety of hidden caves like Santa Marija Cave, the Crystal Lagoon Tunnel, Popeyes Cave, and Lovers Cave, while learning fascinating stories about the area. And, if the weather is nice and the sea is warm, why not take a dip in the crystal-clear waters or try snorkelling and admire the amazing clear azure waters.
We return to Malta and reboard our transport for a scenic drive, with a brief stop at Ghajn Tuffieha, an award-winning beach, where you can take a quick selfie from the elevated belvedere. We continue through the countryside to our next stop, the old town of Rabat. Here you can try our favourite street food, Pastizzi. These are filo parcels filled with ricotta cheese or mashed peas. Wash these down with a local beer or try our local soft drink, Kinnie - a bittersweet orange citrus drink.
We continue along the west side coast, stopping at one of the highest points of the island, Dingli Cliffs. The final stretch will take us through the valley of Girgenti, before arriving at the tiny hamlet known as Wied Iz-Zurrieq, famous for the magnificent Blue Grotto. This tiny hamlet sits in a valley and has a very picturesque harbour. The grotto and neighbouring system of sea caves are home to brilliant phosphorescent marine life. The 25-minute boat trip explores the incredible beauty of this natural wonder and is a "must-do".
NOTE! The final part of the tour including the stop at Dingli Cliffs and a visit to the Blue Grotto, can be replaced with a visit to the old medieval city of Mdina instead.
